Steampunk Mickey at The Disney Gallery
Recently I scored free tickets to Disneyland. Woohoo! I ended up going on one of the hottest days of the years. I wasn’t too happy at first but it turned out to be a good thing – the park was EMPTY. Plus it gave me an excuse to explore all the storefronts on Main Street since they were wonderfully air conditioned. My first stop was The Disney Gallery.
Have you ever been? It’s one of the hidden gems of the park. Located just inside the main entrance adjacent to Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln it showcases a rotating collection of commissioned works. I’ve seen so many fabulous paintings in here and have even taken home a few collectibles.
On this particular visit the exhibit was Mechanical Kingdoms: Steam-Driven Visions of a Victorian Future.
Inside there were many original Steampunk inspired works as well as themed concept designs for the various parks.
I happened to be partial to this piece.
Too fun, but definitely out of my budget. In the gift shop there were items more budget friendly but nothing that I needed to take home.
Whether you’re into Steampunk or not the The Disney Gallery is a fun place to check out. Just watch your wallet…you will be tempted to buy something!
