Visiting Funko Headquarters in Everett, WA

Whenever I travel I have a wide variety of places I want to visit. Natural wonders, local museums, regional restaurants and roadside attractions often make the list but stores rarely do. Sure, I like to buy souvenirs but I’d rather pick them up along the way and avoid malls and shopping centers. That being said, when I recently traveled to Washington there was once store that was a must stop – Funko Headquarters in Everett, WA.

Since it’s 1998 debut Funko has taken the world by storm with it’s line of Pop! vinyl figurines featuring various pop culture icons. Now, I’m not a collector by any means but I do appreciate their depictions of some of my favorite characters from the world of Harry Potter, Disney and more. When their flagship store opened in Everett, WA last year I thought it would be a fun place to check out.

Luckily, Everett is just outside Seattle so it was easy to stop by while traveling around the area. I figured it’d be fun to just pop in and take a brief look around so I didn’t visit until the end of the day. Before I knew it, the store was closing and I had been looking around for over an hour!

While the store offers a wide variety of Funko products (including a build your own figurine) that’s not what kept me entertained for so long. Instead, it’s the way the shop is configured. Like a theme park for adults the store is divided into various lands with detailed decor throughout.

First I entered Harry Potter’s England and ran into Ron, Hermione and Harry while Dobby and Dumbledore watched over me.

Then I was face to face with Luke Skywalker on Hoth.

And suddenly I was in the midst of an intense Avenger battle.

Luckily, I escaped just in time to hang out with the Disney princesses…

and chill with the Caped Crusader in the Batcave.

It. Was. Awesome. Honestly, I could have spent a bit longer looking around but it was closing time so I grabbed my purchases and, sadly, left wonderland behind.

Visiting Funko Headquarters was a true trip highlight. Located about 30 minutes north of Seattle it’s definitely worth a visit whether you’re a fan of the products or not. Even if you have just a passing interest in pop culture you’re sure to be delighted. I sure was.
