Viewing No Taste For Bad Taste at A+D Museum

Last week I was headed to Downtown LA for an evening film screening and, lo and behold, the freeways were clear and I arrived well before showtime. Since I had some time to spare I decided to visit the A+D Museum in the arts district to check out their latest exhibition No Taste For Bad Taste which features an array of French design.

A+D Museum is devoted to architecture and design and I’ve had the pleasure of visiting it multiple times in the past. As a fan of both disciplines I often find their exhibitions both beautiful and informative so I was especially keen to see No Taste For Bad Taste featuring 40 examples of prime French design.

The exhibit is in the midst of a global 4 year tour and Los Angeles is the only West Coast stop. On view are a series of vignettes which represent the 10 essential values of French design conveying such diverse themes as panache, heritage, cultural openness and sustainable innovation.

Viewing the exhibition I came across several pieces that I absolutely loved like this couch from Noé Duchaufour Lawrance (for La Chance)…

this lighting fixture from Godefroy de Virieu & Stefania di Petrillo (for Saint-Louis) and

this photo by Denis Darzacq.

Doesn’t it perfect pair with the Constance Guisset lamp?

No Taste For Bad Taste is a fun, quirky exhibition that runs until April 29, 2018 at A+D Museum in the Arts District. Next time your headed to the area I recommend stopping by to check it out.
